A Guide for Teens to Get Glowing Clear Skin

A good skincare routine is crucial if you suffer from acne and hormonal breakouts. Creating a daily skincare routine that includes products to remove excess oil, unclog your pores, and help your exfoliate dead skin will do wonders for your acne prone skin.

When looking for the best products to prevent developing pimples, it can be very overwhelming with the endless amount of cleansers and moisturizers available.

A daily skincare routine must be done twice a day each morning and night for the products to work effectively. The most common skincare routine is using acne kids face wash once a day and that is not enough to get clear skin.

Here are the 4 steps to getting a clear, healthy, and glowy skin that is pimple free:

Step 1: Cleanse

Start off by cleansing your skin with a face wash to remove the excess oil and spread it to your jawline, neck, behind the ears, and near the hairline. If you wear makeup, make sure that you take it off with a makeup remover that melts away the products before cleansing with the face wash.

There are different types of face wash for each skin type, but it is important to use a gentle cleanser that won’t irritate the skin due to use acne treatment.

Wash your face twice a day and tap it with a clean towel until it is dry.

Step 2: Toner

Toner is an important step in skincare routines to remove the excess oil that the face wash couldn’t get rid of. It also helps to hydrate and fight blackheads.

Apply a toner that contains AHAs to prevent your pores from clogging and developing pimples. After washing your face, use a cotton pad soaked in the toner solution and apply it gently all over.

Step 3: Acne treatment

Once the toner is completely dry, it is time to apply an acne treatment. Acne treatments can include benzoyl peroxide, which kill bacteria that causes pimples, or salicylic acid to exfoliate the skin and remove dirt inside the pores.

Depending on the product you use as acne treatment, you can use it every night or a few days a week.

Step 4: Oil-free moisturizer

The last step for a complete skincare routine is moisturizing your face, even if you have oily skin. Using an oil-free moisturizer will help keep your face hydrated after using acne products that can dry out the skin.

Additional steps to consider

Acne treatments can cause your skin to become very sensitive to the sun. Wearing sunscreen in the morning can protect it from UV rays and reduce the blemishes from getting darker.

Using a clay mask once a week can be very therapeutic for the skin and it will pull out the dirt buildup in your pores. Adding a gentle chemical peel to exfoliate the skin weekly can also reduce breakouts, remove dead skin, make it look healthy, and encourage the skin to renew to fade pigmentation caused by pimples.
